The Upside-Down Kingdom

In this sermon on Luke 6:17–49, titled “The Upside-Down Kingdom,” we explore Jesus’ powerful teaching often called the Sermon on the Plain. Jesus reveals a kingdom that operates completely opposite to the values of the world, where the poor are blessed, the humble are lifted up, and believers are called to love even their enemies. Through the blessings and warnings, the radical command to love enemies, and the parable of the two foundations, Jesus challenges us to examine our hearts and the foundation of our faith. This message explains what it truly means to follow Christ in a culture that values wealth, comfort, and popularity. Ultimately, Jesus calls His followers not only to hear His words but to build their lives on them so they can stand firm when life’s storms come.
